Since December 2005, OncoVista has held controlling interest in AdnaGen AG, a German company with unique technology for the rapid and sensitive detection and analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs).

AdnaGen’s technology enables the monitoring of anticancer drug performance in patients and can be utilized in both clinical trials and the physicians' offices for the prognosis of disease progression.

AdnaGen’s proprietary “combination-of-combinations” principle led to the first commercial product that provided a complete solution for the detection and analysis of CTCs for clinical diagnosis.

In Europe, AdnaGen currently offers diagnostic products for colon and breast cancer diagnosis with a specificity of >95% at a sensitivity of two (2) tumor cells per ten million (10⁷) normal nucleated cells, enabling the reproducible detection of low levels of CTCs in the blood.
